KSE Ranking

Kyiv School of Economics ranks well in the international and Ukrainian rankings.

1. KSE is ranked first of the economic research institutions by RePec(April 201) and also all researchers ranked in the top 25% are either KSE faculty or KSE graduates.

RePEc provides rankings compare institutions and departments based on their economic research. These rankings, which include a total of 5,285 institutions worldwide, are determined on the basis of the combined impact of faculty publications.

2. Kyiv School of Economics ranked first among Ukrainian business schools in an international ranking of web visibility.

According to "Ranking Web of World Business Schools" (January 2011) Kyiv School of Economics was recognized as the most visible Ukrainian business school.

The "Ranking Web of World Business Schools" is an initiative of the Cybermetrics Lab, a research group belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC), the largest public research body in Spain. Several web indicators are used to measure the global visibility and impact of the institutions’ scientific repositories. KSE is the first among Ukrainian business schools represented in the ranking (290th place in the worldwide ranking).

3. KSE is ranked 191 out of 1,500 institutions worldwide by SSRN. 

4. KSE in Ukrainian ranking

Kyiv School of Economics is represented in the ranking of Ukrainian universities based on Scopus database.

Scopus is the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature and quality Web sources with smart tools to track, analyze and visualize research. It covers nearly 18,000 titles from more than 5,000 international publishers, including coverage of 16,500 peer-reviewed journals in the scientific, technical, medical and social sciences fields.

KSE is ranked 55 out of 97 universities. It should be mentioned that this ranking takes into account the number of publications and citations in different fields. This is a disadvantage for KSE as KSE focuses on Economics, a field which, compared to other sciences, has relatively few publications and citations as publication standards are very high in economics. In addition, KSE is small (only 10 full-time professors compared to the typical university which has hundreds of professors) , young (KSE started having full time faculty only in the early 2000s while the ranking takes into account publications from 1996) and has recently changed its name, from EERC to KSE ( EERC publications seem not to have been allocated to EERC as one of our faculty members, by himself, would rank around place 50 in this university ranking)..
