KSE Faculty

Kyiv School of Economics is the only institution in Ukraine at which faculty members hold a Ph.D. degree from reputable Western universities. Most of the faculty are Western-trained economists from Ukraine and neighboring countries with a strong research background, as well as visiting professors from universities in Western Europe and North America.

KSE also actively involves practitioners from the industry who provide a practitioner-oriented component to the KSE general curriculum and are involved in teaching various courses devoted to management, business strategies, financial and strategic planning.

Professional experience: Ivan Kompan, Head of the KSE Management Education Department and director of KSE MBA, is a corporate finance specialist with more than 25 years of professional experience in financial advisory and management consulting services. In addition to KSE Mr. Kompan teaches Finance and Strategic Planning at the MBA Program in the Edinburgh Business School Eastern Europe. Prior to KSE, Mr. Kompan had held top management positions with leading Ukrainian and international financial institutions, in particular Deloitte (Partner in charge of Financial Advisory Services); Wood & Company (Country Manager), Creditanstalt Austria Investment Bank (Executive Director), etc.

Professor
Professional experience: Serhiy Gvozdiov, professor of Kyiv School of Economics, managing partner of “Neobkhidno i dostatnio” company. Key focus of Mr. Gvozdiov’s work is related to implementation of supply chain management based on the Theory of Constraints and lean manufacturing. Among Mr. Gvozdiov’s clients there are companies like Kraft Foods Ukraine, Nestle, Raiffeisen Bank Aval, Volksbank, Luxoft, MHP, DTEK, Zaporizhzhya Transformer Plant,  IDS, Fast Food Systems, Law firm Vasyl Kisil and Partners, Ferrexpo and other.

Visiting Professor

Professional experience: Alastair Nicholson is a visiting professor of Kyiv School of Economics, Emeritus Professor of Operations and Technology Management at London Business School. Mr. Nicholson used to be a consultant to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, director of Lean Consultancy. Alastair Nicholson is a consultant specializing in managing business operations: mergers, new product development, core process identification, strategic initiative. He also has experience of business development in Poland and Russia.

Professional experience: Andriy Stavytskyy, visiting professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Mr. Stavytskyy teaches at the KSE MBA program. Andriy Stavytskyy - Associate Professor at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, ECTS Coordinator and national expert of Ukrainian team HERE. Mr. Stavytskyy has extensive experience of teaching at Edinburgh Business School Eastern Europe, Vilnius University (Lithuania) and is senior research fellow at Academy of Financial Management. Professor Stavytskyy is an author of more than 25 course books and 90 academic papers.

Professional experience: Anastasiya Leukhina, adjunct professor of Kyiv Shool of Economics. Ms. Leukhina teaches at the KSE MBA program. Anastasiya Leukhina has 19 years of experience with projects in education, business, public sector and government. She is teaching at numerous Ukrainian business schools. Ms. Leukhina is a member of Advisory Council reforming the Interior Ministry, she is also advisor of the US Department of Justice, head of Attestation Commission of the National Police of Ukraine and analyst of Ukraine monitor of reforms of the International Carnegie Europe. Anastasiya Leukhina has developed negotiation and conflict resolution training programs for Canadian International Institute of Applied Negotiation, Mediation Center at Carleton University and University of Notre Dame.

Professional experience: Arkadiy Vershebenyuk, adjunct professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Mr. Vershebenyuk teaches at the KSE MBA program. He is also a visiting instructor at Higher School of Economics. Arkadiy Vershebenyuk held senior leadership positions in such companies as Uber Ukraine (General Director), Colliers International (Managing director and investment consultant). Mr. Vershebenyuk also worked as a consultant of Egon Zehnder, is a founder of AV Translations company and also a member of Supervisory council of ICU alumni.

Professional experience: Andrii Bolshakov, adjunct professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Mr. Bolshakov teaches at the KSE MBA program. Andrii Bolshakov is a business management professional with over 10 years of senior-level experience in such companies as McKinsey, Metinvest Holding, SCM, Agricom Group, Deloitte. Andrii worked on the boards of Ukrainian companies and was responsible for Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions and Capital Investments. He led Ukraine’s major M&A and Capital Markets deals, has experience in Metals & Mining, Energy, Agriculture & Food and in diversified conglomerates.

Professional experience: Mark Sawchuk, adjunct professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Mr. Sawchuk teaches at the MBA program of Kyiv School of Economics. He serves as a General Manager of L’Oreal Ukraine. Mr. Sawchuk also has experience working on various marketing positions and with brand management in Montreal, Paris and Kyiv.

Professional experience: Andrii Drobot, adjunct professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Mr. Drobot teaches at the KSE MBA program. Prior to starting teaching, Andriy Drobot worked at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. Before joining Roland Berger Andrii Drobot made a career from researcher to partner at Brain Source International and spent several years in investment banking sphere. Currently, Mr. Drobot works as CFO at IT-company and is a partner at private management consulting practice.

Professional experience: Vasile Tofan - adjunct professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Mr. Tofan teaches at the KSE MBA program. Vasile Tofan serves as a partner of Horizon Capital, he has 10 years of management and consulting experience in the FMCG, healthcare and tech sectors. Mr. Tofan worked extensively across emerging markets, including Russia, Romania, Slovakia and Nigeria.

Mr. Potapov has over 15 years of experience, five of which in projects connected with organizational development.

Professional experience: Oksana Hoshva, adjunct professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Ms. Hoshva teaches at the KSE MBA program. Oksana Hoshva has over 10 years of experience in business. She is a founder of DOT_DOT innovation, PR agency HOSHVA PR and digital marketing agency HOSHVA DIGITAL, which are top players on the market of marketing communications and cooperate with such companies as Watsons, Intel, Cisco, Reckitt Benckiser, L'Oreal, Bacardi Martini, Synevo, OLX. Oksana Hoshva is an active member of the Ukrainian startup community, acted as a mentor for Startup Weekends, Media Hack Weekend, Lean Startup Machine Warsaw and speaker at numerous conferences.

Professional experience: Tetyana Lukyniuk is a General Manager of Red Bull. Ms. Lukyniuk teaches Strategic Marketing at the MBA program of Kyiv School of Economics and also at Chartered Institute of Marketing. She has over 20 years of experience on senior leadership positions at international companies, including 11 years in marketing: Gallaher, Coca-Colа (Brand Manager), Oriflame and SUN InBev Ukraine (Marketing Director), Mars Ukraine (National Sales Manager).

Professional experience: Olena Sergeeva, teaches at the MBA programs of Edinburgh Business School Eastern Europe and Kyiv School of Economics. Ms. Sergeeva has over 15 years of experience on senior leadership positions in international organizations. She served as a General Director of Mary Kay in Ukraine and Moldova. Ms. Sergeeva – author and leader of the School of Leadership at European Business Association.

Professional experience: Olena Baryshnikova teaches at Ukraine’s top business schools. Olena has 18 years of experience as business trainer and consultant and was named the best tutor of the year in rating of the Institute of Financial Accountant (UK) in 2007 and 2011. She also serves as a director of Business Education Alliance and auditing firm “Lex service”.

Professional experience: Mykhailo Kolisnyk is a professor of Kyiv School of Economics, managing partner of FINART Smart Solutions company. Mr. Kolisnyk teaches Finance at the Master’s programs and MBA program for managers of state-owned enterprises at Kyiv School of Economics and also at Lviv Business School of Ukrainian Catholic University and Business School of the Privatization and Management Institute (Belarus). Dr. Kolisnyk is the author of more than 100 articles on finance and strategic management. He was a Dean of KMBS Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (2008-2010).

Professional experience: Anna Vlasova is a visiting professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Ms. Vlasova teaches at the KSE MBA programs. Anna Vlasova has been running professional development programs for HR-managers and management development programs for company owners and TOP-managers for almost 20 years. Anna possesses extensive experience of teaching at business schools in Ukraine and abroad. She participated in joint research projects on management together with London Business School and in educational projects of USAID, CIDA and DANIDA (of American, Canadian and Danish agencies of international development, respectively), also in the projects of World Bank, State Property Fund of Ukraine and National agency of Ukraine on state service issues. Ms. Vlasova is also a consultant at more than 100 Ukrainian and international companies of different business areas and is an author of numerous educational programs on human resources management.

Professional experience: Andrii Kirilenko is a visiting professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Mr. Kirilenko teaches at the KSE MBA program. Andrii Kirilenko is a professor of the Practice of Finance at MIT Sloan School of Management. He also serves as economist at International Monetary Fund and chief economist at Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Professional experience: Joachim Bentz - adjunct professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Mr. Bentz teaches at the KSE MBA program. Having worked for more than 15 years at many different levels in global organizations, Mr. Bentz developed and implemented effective local strategies for FMCG companies in Ukraine, Russia, Germany and Chile.

Professional experience: Michael Calikusu is a visiting professor of Kyiv School of Economics. Mr. Calikusu teaches at the KSE MBA program. Being a member of the American and Texas Bar Association and the American and Virginia Commonwealth Certified Public Accountancy Board (CPA), Michael Calikusu holds legal, finance and accounting related professional accreditations. Michael's professional experience is with leading FMCG companies. He was Kraft's (now Mondelez International) Director for Strategy & Business Development for the CEEMA region based in Austria, leading and managing a number of region-wide acquisitions (Balkans, Russia, Poland, Morocco, Turkey, Egypt). Before joining Kraft, he held a number of senior executive positions in operating units and in Headquarters alike with Reckitt-Benckiser (VP of Corporate Development), Pepsi-Cola Int'l (Director of Business Development) and PriceWaterhouseCoopers (Principal Consultant).
