In times of transition it’s important first to pinpoint the most serious problems the country is facing and determine the country’s destination, according to Prof. Balcerowicz. “Do not be discouraged that you have many problems. If you have many problems, you have many possibilities for improvement, with proper policies of course”, - Prof. Balcerowicz noted. “You have to know where are you heading. The only rational choice is to head to the system which is capable of producing rapid, long-term economic growth”, - he said.
