Ukraine ranked 71st among 190 countries in the Doing Business 2019 ranking. It is 5 times higher than last year but still insufficient. The nearest neighbors of Ukraine - Poland, Russia, Belarus, and Slovakia - are at 33, 31, 37 and 42 places respectively. What is Ukraine missing now? Where to go? How can businesses succeed even in an unfavorable environment? We will discuss these questions with business representatives and government regulators.

A lot of ATO and JFO Veterans after returning from war are thinking about starting their own enterprises. We have prepared for you some inspirational cases of successful small businesses created by veterans. Maya Moskvich, who served in the battalion named after General Kulchytsky, "Harpoon" and "Myrotworets" and brought two gold medals from Invictus Games this year, will tell about the experience of growing garlic. And Volodymyr Shevchenko will share his experience on opening the coffeehouses under the ‘Veterano Coffee’ brand. During the event, you will get a unique opportunity to join the DOers’ community – people accustomed to taking responsibility for their life and success.

On October 5, business inspections in Ukraine began again. This time interdepartmental inspections are aimed at the enterprises’ compliance with labor legislation. During the meeting, we will talk with the Chairman of the BRDO Oleksiy Goncharuk on what to expect from the state next year, how to behave during a verification and whether it is possible to protect ourselves from unlawful actions of the auditors. The meeting will be useful for business representatives and those who want to start their own business.

Current world is in the era of ‘digital revolution’. Such expressions as ‘artificial intelligence’, ‘large data’, and ‘machine learning’ from the scope of terms understood by a narrow circle of IT specialists are being passed into a category used by the general public. What does it mean for each particular company? The need to keep an eye on a pulse applying modern transformational techniques and management principles. Overall, we will talk about lean approaches, corporate culture, KPI's, customer experience design, as well as NPS.

At the end of SME Week in Ukraine, the Kyiv School has prepared a special event - meeting with Christopher Wales, an adviser to many prime ministers on economic and fiscal policy. Christopher specializes in tax systems, forecasting budget revenues and transparency in public administration.
