Macro Group

The Macro group is a research unit of EROC-EERC. The objective of the Macro group is to coordinate, to promote and to disseminate research of EERC-EROC members in the areas of macroeconomics and transition.

The following projects have been carried out jointly with EERC MA students:

Currently, the following projects are undertaken in cooperation with EERC-EROC members:

  • Downward Nominal Wage Rigidity: The Implications from a New-Keynesian Model.
  • Income and Wealth Inequality Indices in a Heterogeneous-Agent Economy: Theory and Empirics.
  • Sovereign Risk, Expropriation and Optimal Policy Choice.
  • Shadow Sector and Economic Growth.
  • A Non-Parametric Simulation Method for Solving Non-Linear Stochastic Growth Models.

The group is led by Lilia Maliar (University of Alicante) and Serguei Maliar (University of Alicante) and has two research assistants, Alexander Romanov (EERC 2005) and Alena Piskurouskaya (EERC class of 2006).
