Public Lecture by Dr. Robert Pindyck

Dear friends,

On behalf of the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) and the Victor Pinchuk Foundation, we would like to invite you to a KSE Public Lecture by Dr. Robert Pindyck, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Professor of Economics and Finance in the Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, U.S.A.).

Dr. Robert S. Pindyck has published numerous academic journal articles, and is the co-author of many books, including three famous textbooks "Microeconomics", “Econometric Models and Economic Forecasts”, and “Investment Under Uncertainty”. He is also a Research Associate at the National Bureau for Economic Research (NBER, U.S.A), a Fellow of the Econometric Society, and has been a visiting professor at the Tel-Aviv University and Harvard University. He has been Co-editor of “The Review of Economics and Statistics”, and in addition has been a consultant to a number of public and private organizations.

During the lecture, Dr. Pindyck will speak about the uses of microeconomics in real-life, for example, how to conduct the analysis of market structure, pricing strategies, bundling, brand proliferation and other strategies for gaining and maintaining market power.

This event will be moderated by Dr. Tom Coupe, the Director of the Kyiv School of Economics.

Students from Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova are welcome to participate*.

The event will be held on Friday, May 25, 2007 at 17.00 at the “Leonardo Business Center” Conference Hall (17/52-A Bohdana Khmelnitskogo Str., Kyiv, Ukraine).
