KSE Student ConferenceThe Annual International Student Conference on “Energy Dependence and the Impact of the Gas Price Changes on the Ukrainian /Belarusian/Moldovan Economy” was held at KSE on December, 4.
Selected essays and research papers were presented at the conference. The two best research papers and the two best essays were awarded monetary prizes.
EBRD's 2010 Transition Report Presentation at KSEOn December, 8 European Bank for Reconstruction and Development 2010 Transition Report was presented at KSE.
The presentation was given by the EBRD Chief Economist, Erik Berglof, and the EBRD Senior Regional Economist, Alexander Pivovarsky. The new issue of the EBRD report, called “Recovery and Reform”, provides an outlook on the region's economic performance in the current challenging circumstances.
Dr. David Tarr at KSEDr. David G. Tarr, a consultant and former Lead Economist with the World Bank, presented his research "Is Too Big to Fail a Myth?" at Kyiv School of Economics.
There are fears that failure of large financial institutions will cause systemic financial market failure and they are therefore “too big to fail.” But David Tarr argues that the US experience, shows that “too big to fail” is a myth.
KSE alumni obtained a Master's degree from the University of Houston KSE graduates of the Class of 2010 were awarded a Master’s Degree from the University of Houston (U.S.) on December, 17.
The Kyiv School of Economics has an agreement with the University of Houston (USA) that allows KSE students to obtain, while studying at KSE, a Master's degree of the University of Houston.

Roy Gardner's memorial galleryDr. Roy Gardner unexpectedly passed away on Monday, January 10. Dr. Roy Gardner taught at KSE since 1996 and served as KSE Academic Director between 2002 and 2010. Roy had agreed to become a full time faculty member at KSE from January 2011. We will miss him, his advice, his friendship and his joyful Russian.
KSE Olympiad in Economics and Finance. The Final RoundThe final round of the KSE Olympiad in Economics and Finance was held in Kyiv on February, 1.

KSE Olympiad in Quantitative Economics. The Final RoundThe final round of the KSE Olympiad in Quantitative Economics was held in Kyiv on April, 12.
70 students from all over Ukraine who won in the first round of the Olympiad in their cities took place in the final round of the KSE Olympiad. Totally 505 students took part in the Olympiad.
