The wiiw Handbook of Statistics is published annually and contains each year revised, updated and expanded annual and monthly statistics on the transition economies. It covers key economic data on twelve countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia and Montenegro, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia and Ukraine. The 2003 edition covers the period 1990 to September 2003.

This unique annual databases reveals transition progress through shifts in industrial structures by manufacturing branch. The database facilitates comparisons over time (1989-2003-2004) as well as across countries and industries.
Coverage: The database contains more than 8000 time series on industry in the Central and East European countries (CEECs). The eleven countries currently covered are: Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. The data relate to the period 1989-2004 and are arranged according to NACE rev. 1 sections of industry and 14 subsections of manufacturing (C, D, E; DA, DB ... DN). For Croatia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania and Slovenia we provide even more disaggregated data of manufacturing at the level of NACE rev. 1 divisions (15, 16 ... 37) comprising 23 industries which are identical with industries at the 2-digit level of the ISIC rev. 3 code.
Information is presented by country, year and industry. More than twenty economic indicators are covered, focusing on production, employment, wages and trade.

Coverage: Updated twice a year in February and July, wiiw-wifo Data on FDI give a systematic overview on foreign direct investment in the CEE and NIS countries, shedding light on the regional investment climate, with special attention on Austrian FDI in the region. The July issue focuses on the preceding year, the February issue on mid-year results.

An analysis of recent developments and prospects of FDI is included. It tackles all major issues brought forward by the latest statistics: FDI inflows and outflows, inward and outward stocks, forms of FDI and trends in FDI-related earnings, and changes in FDI by home country and by economic activity. This analysis is followed by Tables I (total flow and stock data according to the respective countries' National Banks) and Tables II (more detailed FDI data by economic activities and by countries, based on information from the National Banks or from statistical offices and investment promotion agencies). We included the most recent updates and backward revisions of data. Austrian FDI is covered in the way the receiving countries report it.

This annual publication gathers detailed historical statistics on international direct investment to and from the OECD area. Data are broken down by geographical zone and industrial sector for direct investment flows and stocks. For some countries this information may go as far back as 1980. The OECD has published international direct investment statistics since 1993.
The data series are provided by national experts according to the joint OECD-EUROSTAT statistical questionnaire. The data are based for the most part on balance of payments statistics published by the Central Banks and Statistical Offices following the recommendations of the IMF Balance of Payments Manual, Fifth Edition and the OECD Benchmark Definition of Foreign Direct Investment , Third Edition. However, some of the data relate to other sources such as notifications or approvals.

The IFS is a standard source of international statistics on all aspects of international and domestic finance. It reports, for most countries of the world, current data needed in the analysis of problems of international payments and of inflation and deflation, i.e., data on exchange rates, international liquidity, money and banking, interest rates, prices, production, international transactions, government accounts, and national accounts. Information is presented in country tables and in tables of area and world aggregates. Appoximately 840 pages each monthly issue.

The ULMS panel data set, similar to the Russian Longitudinal Monitoring Survey, is conceived as a statistically representative sample of the Ukrainian population aged between 15 and 72 years, comprising 4,000 households and approximately 8,500 individuals. The household questionnaire contains questions on the demographic structure of the household, its income and expenditure patterns, as well as living conditions. Individual survey data include primary and secondary employment, search activities, non-employment and participation in labor market programs in the reference week, education and skills, the ownership structure and its evolution at workers' firms, spatial mobility, health status, and political and environmental attitudes, wage arrears, payments in kind, unpaid leave, etc.; an extensive retrospective part tracks workers' labor market involvement at specific points in the past.
