Oleg Bizyayev graduated from the EERC Master's program in economics in 2000. After graduating from EERC, Oleg was successfully admitted to the Ph.D. program in economics at the Boston College, U.S.A.

A tragic accident happened to Oleg during his studies in the states on July 4, 2004. As a result, he obtained a critical head trauma, had been in coma for almost half a year, withstood 6 operations, and gained consciousness only later - about one year ago.

For a long time he has been is the rehabilitation center in Boston together with his mother and brother recovering after operations. The situation has been very difficult for Oleg and for his family. Some of Oleg's lost documents were restored thanks to the efforts of his brother. Later in 2005, the family managed to transport Oleg to Ukraine to Kiev (Institute of Neurology named after A.P. Romodanov). A prominent doctor from the Institute of Neurology in Kiev agreed to accept Oleg as a patient. In Ukraine, Oleg withstood another surgery. His disablement was recognized by the state in Ukraine.

As a result of the trauma, the left side of Oleg's body was completely paralyzed. He was only able to move with a help of a cart. Recently, the doctors succeeded in moving his left leg. Oleg attempts to walk with a help of his family. Despite the noticeable improvements, Oleg's general condition remains unstable. Recently, he has fallen ill with pneumonia. Right now Oleg and his family remain in a difficult financial situation. To renew his lost body functions, Oleg needs to remain on medication and continue his rehabilitation procedures. Oleg is advised to take rehabilitation courses several times a year (courses can take place only in the specialized rehabilitation centers - and this is very expensive). We continue supporting him and collect donations on a continuous basis.
